Frequently Asked Questions

I know that letting someone else take care of your pet can be difficult. To make the process a little easier, I’ve put together some of the questions I’m frequently asked. If there’s something I’ve missed, just get in touch and I’ll do my best to help.

Q: Are you licenced to board dogs at your home?
A: Yes, I have been awarded a 4-star Higher Standard Licence by Leeds City Council. This means my home, policies and procedures have been assessed and approved by the council.

Q: How many dogs can you walk at once?

A: As a professional Dog Walker I am permitted to walk up to 6 dogs at once.

Q: Are you insured?
A: I have full public liability insurance which covers Dog Walking, Dog Boarding, Pet Sitting and Home Visit services.

Q: What happens in the event of an emergency?
A: In the unlikely event of needing to contact you I will call the number(s) you provided in your Dog Walking Agreement. If I am unable to contact you, and your pet requires urgent veterinary treatment I will take your pet to the vet which you have specified. Leads will not be liable for any costs incurred.

Q: Where do you walk the dogs?
A: There are several parks and wooded areas that will be used for both group and solo walks. I'll always try to ensure there is variety if I walk your dog more than once a week. If your dog has a favourite spot please let me know and I'll do my best to visit with them.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: I ask that 24hrs notice is given when cancelling a pre-booked service. If cancellations fall within 24hrs then a 50% charge will be incurred. I hope you understand this is necessary given the nature of operating a small business. I'll always do my best to be flexible with any unforeseen circumstances. Home Boarding services have a separate policy.

Q: Can I trust you with my keys?
A: Yes! I have an enhanced DBS check and full insurance, and will ensure I manage your property securely and responsibly.
